Approximately 70% of the almonds consumed in Europe come from the United States.<\/p>\n
In Germany, around 65% of the imported almonds are from the United States, while 20% are Spanish (figures from the World Bank in 2021).<\/p>\n
More than 50% of the imports in France come from Spain, but the United States and Australia still make up almost 30%.<\/p>\n

For all these reasons, the Spanish SAB-Almendrave association and the Portuguese CNCFS (Centro Nacional de Compet\u00eancias dos Frutos Secos) have decided to implement a European Programme focused on sustainability in the Iberian almond production process.<\/p>\n
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the European almond, highlighting its sustainability. A further goal is to increase its demand and facilitate its expansion.<\/p>\n
